    The Role

    Affordable Care is seeking a Senior Accountant reporting to the Manager of General Accounting.  The Senior Accountant is responsible for various accounting operations of the company, including closing the books, financial reporting, financial analysis, and account reconciliations.  Additional details on the role follow:

     

     

    • Have experience using and a propensity to quickly learn how to navigate various financial systems. Must be a very efficient Microsoft user.
    • Use outstanding inter-personal skills to influence through relationship building, business insights and critical thinking
    • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, ability to roll-up their sleeves and the passionate desire to drive results.

     

     

    Key Objectives

    • Perform month-end accounting close activities including financial analysis, journal entries, accruals
    • Prepares financial reports and analysis for management
    • Prepares data and analyses for the external auditors
    • Investigates variances between actual results and forecast
    • Reconciles balance sheet accounts and identifies required adjustments
    • Maintains fixed assets and lease accounting
    • Supports centralized cash management program
    • Leverages system knowledge to analyze data
    • Maintains continuous improvement mindset
    • Maintains internal controls and compliance with company policies and with GAAP
    • Assumes additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed or directed

     

    Candidate Profile & Preferred Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or audit
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Experience with accounting systems, Great Plains experience desirable
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Collaborative work style
